Gotham partygoers are used to celebs in their midst. So it was remarkable that at least one star made everyone go all gushy at the March 20 opening night party of Broadway’s new “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

No, not Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, who were at both the perf and the party. Not Emilia Clarke, the production’s Holly Golightly, either. She received a properly adoring response, but really, it was a young unknown named Vito Vincent who reduced New Yorkers to cooing openly.

Vincent, of course, is the feline actor who plays the pivotal role of Cat.

“The cat’s a genius!” partygoer Jeffrey Wright declared as Vincent was rushed past him into the press room for, um, interviews.

Set designer Derek McLane, who was working on “Tiffany’s” while he designed the set for this year’s Oscars, was just glad the unknown thesp was well-behaved. A major set element in the production is a series of scrims that could, to a cat’s eye, look temptingly like screen doors.

“If he’d decided to sharpen his claws on those scrims, I’d be dead,” he said at the period-swank party at the Edison Ballroom.

Clarke at least had all that experience working with dragons during her day job on “Game of Thrones.” Any other similarities between working on the HBO series and Broadway?

“An ability to keep your cool, under any circumstances, is what I brought over from ‘Game of Thrones’ to this,” she said.

Playing a character who’s a style icon must have come with a lot of pressure. Not least of which is: What on earth does a young actress wear to the opening night party?

“That’s why you get a stylist!” said Clarke.
