EW – It’s the show that will kill everyone you love but that will never die itself. (Not that we want it to.)
Game of Thrones won the trophy for Best Drama Series at the 22nd annual Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles Sunday. This marks the second win — and sixth nomination — for the hit HBO series.
Although none of the executive producers were able to attend the ceremony because the show is busy filming in Europe, the award will have a temporary home: Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor on the show and was DJing the award ceremony, accepted the award on the show’s behalf.
It’s no secret that critics love Thrones, but with the series now having an end date, the win means that much more. And technically, this is the show’s first full-out win considering that it last took home a trophy in 2013 when it tied with Breaking Bad.
