My life has been shaped by a true sense of equality; it was never an overt “for crying out loud Emilia is just as capable as her brother!” it was simply etched into every action, choice, and behaviour of my family.

It was a recognised matter of fact that I, as a woman, was no different to my brother. Just as my mum was no different from my father in their careers, therefore I was raised in an equal earning, equally managed household that showed me anything a man could do, a woman could and should do too.

So I grew up with a voice, but it was not a shared voice of a generation, and it was only much later I realised what an incredible, feminist, start to life I had been given.

In the last few months we have all witnessed a major shift in the way women are collectively making their voices heard. The Women’s March on 21 January gathered more than five million people throughout the world – giving us all the lead to see what we can do to make this a change that’s here to stay.

Now I don’t know about you, but there are days where I feel like a guilty feminist. What am I actually doing every day to stand up for women’s rights? My personal experiences, and my understanding of the bigger issues of inequality, aren’t enough. What can I take part in, against hate and oppression, to ensure that the women’s movement continues, and strengthens and grows?

And so guest editing the All Women Everywhere edition of The Huffington Post UK is not a task I take lightly.

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER – With 60 episodes under its belt and counting, HBO’s Game of Thrones has produced an enormous amount of characters — some more successful than others, sure, but almost all of them distinct and memorable in their own right.

Indeed, the ensemble is so vast that you could anoint virtually any character as your personal favorite, and you wouldn’t be wrong. Is it nothing but Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in your forecast? No argument here. Do you forsake the old gods and the new, bowing before Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) instead? Easy to see why! There’s no right or wrong way to prioritize affinity toward the heroes and villains of the HBO fantasy series — which is a helpful thing to keep in mind while considering how we have prioritized these characters.

With that out of the way, here’s how The Hollywood Reporter ranks the top 30 characters featured on Game of Thrones, through six seasons of the series:

3. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke)

She’s as synonymous with Game of Thrones as virtually any other character. Indeed, she’s a transcendent figure, even for those who don’t watch the show. Think about how often the words “Khaleesi” and “Mother of Dragons” are applied these days. The case should be closed there, as Emilia Clarke’s iconic work as Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea and Mother of Dragons (among other mouthy titles) more than speaks for itself.

Momentum Pictures has acquired North American rights to the Emilia Clarke supernatural thriller “Voice From the Stone” with a release in the theaters and on demand in the first quarter, Variety has learned exclusively.

“Game of Thrones” star Clarke and Marton Csokas came on board the project in 2014 when sales-finance company 13 Films signed on to co-finance and handle international sales. Dean Zanuck and Stefano Gallini-Durante are producing and Eric D. Howell directed from Andrew Shaw’s script, based on Silvio Raffo’s Italian-language novel “La Voce Della Pietra.”

Caterina Murino, Remo Girone, Lisa Gastoni and Edward Dring also star. Principal photography took place Italy. Pic is Howell’s feature film directorial debut. The film was financed by Bruce Johnson, Zanuck Independent, and Producer Capital Fund.

Clarke plays a solemn nurse drawn to aid a young boy named Jakob who has fallen silent since the untimely death of his mother nearly a year ago. The boy lives with his father (Csokas) in a massive stone manor in Tuscany and seems to be under the spell of a malevolent force trapped within the stone walls.

Zanuck and Gallini-Durante have been developing “Voice From the Stone” since 2009, when Hideo Nakata (“The Ring”) was attached to direct. Maggie Gyllenhaal came on board to star during Cannes in 2011.

Momentum Pictures’ senior VP of content Ian Goggins made the announcement at AFM on Thursday where 13 Films is handling foreign sales.

“We’re excited to bring this amazing film to the big screen and to work with the talented Emilia Clarke on this project,” said Goggins. “Emilia has proven to be a versatile actor from her dominant role in ‘The Game of Thrones’ to her quirky, yet lovable character in ‘Me Before You.’ We’re confident that her legion of fans will follow her in her new role in ‘Voice in the Stone.’”

The deal was negotiated on behalf of Momentum Pictures by Sejin Croninger with CAA on behalf of the filmmakers.

8. Emilia Clarke

Occupation: Actress
Biggest accomplishment this year: Playing Holly Go-Lightly in the Broadway production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Who doesn’t love the Mother of Dragons? The Game of Thrones star might just be the show’s biggest breakout performer. Her willingness to take on risque scenes has certainly made her a fanboy favorite, but she has also proven to be a tremendous actress capable of playing a variety of roles. She’ll be appearing in the upcoming film Dom Hemingway, starring Jude Law, and will star alongside James Franco in the film Garden of Last Days.

New casting possibilities for Emilia are emerging. Read the article from DigitalSpy below.

Allison Williams and Emilia Clarke are in line to star in Rosaline, it has been confirmed.

It was rumored last month that Girls actress Williams was in talks for a key role in the revisionist take on Romeo & Juliet, which retells the story from the perspective of Romeo’s jilted first love Rosaline.

Williams and Clarke are set to play Rosaline and Juliet respectively, while Dave Franco is in talks to play Romeo, but no deals have yet been made.

Adapted from Rebecca Serle’s novel When You Were Mine, the script has been written by (500) Days of Summer scribes Scott Neustadter and Michael H Weber.

The project is now set to move to Universal, where Shawn Levy (Real Steel) will produce.

Lily Collins and True Blood’s Deborah Ann Woll were previously rumored to be in consideration for the roles of Rosaline and Juliet.
